Class Actions

A class action is a type of lawsuit in which one person, called the “class representative,” sues a defendant on behalf of a group of people, called a “class.”

There are many different types of class actions. We have used class actions to obtain the following types of recovery for our clients:

  • Business expenses
  • Unpaid overtime
  • Unpaid commissions
  • Meal and rest break damages
  • Late paycheck penalties
  • Deferred compensation

One advantage of a class action is that it allows people with small claims to retain experienced counsel and litigate their claims together.

If you would like to explore filing a class action, it is important that you talk to an attorney who is experienced in handling class actions. Jim Clapp of Clapp Legal APC has been appointed class counsel in more than 80 certified class action lawsuits, and he is one of the few attorneys in California ever to have tried a class action.
